White topaz

White topaz is the colorless variety of the gemstone family of stones known as topaz. Much of the white topaz comes from Sri Lanka and is irradiated to make it various shades of blue. White topaz is a natural stone and has not been treated.

The name topaz comes from the Sanskrit word tapas which means the fire of offering the smaller pleasures of the self into the larger self.

In the Vedic system of gemstone useage the clear stones like white topaz, diamond, and white sapphire are used to strengthen the energy of Shukra or Venus.
